A man who broke his leg during a Spartan Sprint in Pennsylvania in 2013 is seeking more than $50,000 in damages in a lawsuit against Spartan and the ski area the event was held at.
According to an article on PennRecord.com, both Spartan Race and the ski area – Blue Mountain Ski Area and Resort in Palmerton – are asking to have recklessness charges in the lawsuit dismissed.
The plaintiff, Raphael Duran, reportedly suffered a broken right leg on an inverted wall. He claims the obstacle was in dangerous condition and that the staff was poorly-trained to deal with injuries.
